SPDD can't be an automatic process, because you have to choose if mantain or loose your custom modifications. To speed up the process, you can choose to include your work in a CR and import that CR in the systems of the same landscape. Follow carefully SAP docs to understand how to do this.
One more thing: SPDD is not a routine task (like it seems to be from what you wrote) You have to do it only when the system asks you to do it, that is during ABAP patching or upgrades.

In the project I am involved to, source system is SAP ECC and I am requested to construct a real time report from business side. The point is that Basis responsible is not at the side of that BO connection directly to SAP tables is good. He is basing his idea on the fact that if Microsoft SQL is the database vendor behind SAP, then SAP would no longer support the project after any corruption, unfavorable event due to ECC-BO connection. Has anyone experienced such thing, heard anything, have any info regarding the topic?
Any what might be the best practices in order to base ECC on WebI?
I have encountered with such methods: ABAP function table, direct table connection, I am in need of the material in the way of achieving such thema.

Hi, I have done the scenario and it has been as you mentioned, I have done MIRO without GR and I have done MIRO with GR and its behavior is as expected. Just a doubt when doing MIRO first. If the freight is different from the condition I must to run the MR11 after to adjust the accounts, ¿it is possible to adjust the acount automatically when doing GR even if the freight cost is different? Wanted to know if there is any information about opening a webi document from a website. The goal is to link the webi reports from our portal website and have the end-user navigation find their reports where they can simply click on a link and directly go to their report for them to run. Obviously the end-user would need to initially enter their credentials for BO but once they are signed-on they should be able to click on other linked webi reports.
Any information would be helpful.

I'm a fairly inexperienced use of VE and I am in process of making a wiring installation document that shows step by step procedures. What I would like to do is animate a wire being hooked up in one terminal and making it "grow" or lengthen and show it feeding into another terminal. I typically use 3DS MAX at work and can easily do this with that program but can't figure out if VE is capable of this.

Jamie, the {CallLog.RecvdDate} is a string field. Not a very well designed database. And probably the CallLog.RecvdTime is one too. Can the Cstr be used to convert?

This may be due to some custom code.I would suggest debugging CIF Queue in ECC Inbound with help from your development team to find root cause.

RFC (SM59) connection at ECC side was having non unicode selected.
Changed it to Unicode.

Hi all,
I am following this excellent blog Using HANA Modeler in the SAP HANA Cloud.
Modeling works pretty well. E.g. I can model and upload tables, create and activate attribute views and analytic views. Data Preview for attribute views works fine as well. However when trying Data Preview for Analytic View a pop-up occurs with message
SAP DBTech JDBC: [257]: sql syntax error: Error:insufficient privilege: Not authorized at ptime/query/checker/query_check.cc:2443
After that the analytic view is displayed without any objects.
Consuming the same analytic view with advanced analysis excel works fine, all data is shown correctly.
I found some hint that an analytic privilegemight be necessary. My database user DEV_.. does not have any analytic privilege, nor do I see any analytic privilege at the assigned roles.
Does anybody manage to execute a Data Preview for Analytic View using a SAP HANA Cloud trial account?

okay...how is the set of lines to be suppressed determined? is it the end user who decides or some type of formula?
if it's the end user that's quick and easy...create a new parameter "Lines" that allows multiple values then change the suppression formula to
whileprintingrecords;
{@lineNum} in {?Lines}
if there's another criteria for the suppression, there's always a way to do this...just let us know what the criteria is.

I have a problem. When i save a request in workbook and try open it in second time, i get this message;
"Excel found unreadable content in filename.xls. Do you want to recover the contents of this workbook? If you trust the source of this workbook, click Yes."
Few requests work fine, others don't work. I have Windows 7, Excel 2010 and SAP GUI 7.1. If people have any idea (Windows correction , Note OSS, upgrade Version)

Hi All,
I have two different planning layouts with common characteristics and key figures which updates two real time Cubes A & B. The only difference between these two planning layouts is the restriction of version.User can enter comments in both the planning layouts. We have used the standard BI document module (com.sap.ip.bi.rig.DocumentContent).
Now, I have built a new multi provider on A & B cubes. I have built a query which pulls the characteristics & key figures which are used in the planning layouts along with version as well. This query needs to provide the comments entered in both the planning layouts. I had inserted two dummy formulas for displaying comments. I have developed a WAD report for the same & used the BI document module to display those comments (I have used two different modules to display the comments).
While testing this WAD report, we found that comments entered for one planning layout is displaying twice instead of displaying two comments entered by users in the planning layouts.
Can anyone suggest on what needs to be done to retrieve comments entered in both planning layouts.
You can benefit from Invoice reduction with m8 messages to solve your problem. You have to configure your system messages with error.
