Colleagues,
We are upgrading our system from 606 to 617. In 606, CK40N explosion step will explode our BOMs. In 617, it won't. I am creating a note to SAP, but also posting here in hopes of a quicker response.
606 example:
Selection step -- enter plant code, material type, "always recost". 15 materials are selected.
Explosion step -- BOM is exploded and components now included, so total material count is 30.
Costing step -- 30 materials are costed.
617 example:
Selection step -- (same). 15 materials are selected.
Explosion step -- executes, but BOM components are NOT included. Total material count is still 15.
Costing step -- 15 materials are costed.
We have not changed our materials, our configuration, or our procedures. I cannot find any OSS notes about this problem. The closest note is 2048050, and our materials conform to the requirements described in that note.
This is not going to stop our upgrade, because we usually select all desired material types and do not explode. (I do the explosion for thorough testing.) However, this system behavior is incorrect.
