Hi, I'm trying to delete the commont database, in order to re-install Servertools on Linux, and when I try to do it, the system indicates me that I have insufficient privileges. See attachment.

Hi,

I have a requirement where I have to pick sale value where [year] = (current year) and [Month] < (current month) to get YTD data.

In [Month] i have Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr.... values when I tried above formula to get YTD sale value "[Month] < (current month)" doesn't work because it take [Month] in alphabetical order so "<" works on alphabetical order. But I want formula to pick only values till current month-1 in same year.

So please tell me how can I convert Jan, Feb, Mar to 1,2,3..... or if you can suggest any other formula to get CY YTD values using [year] and [Month] that I have.

Hello Peter,

Please I am having same issue trying to rewrite the AS URL so that User can access the SAP mobile document over the internet I am using IIS from window 2008 R2 in a DMZ but my AS server and MCM is installed in Window 2012.

I used the guild from Setting up a Reverse Proxy using IIS, URL Rewrite and ARR ,

Please what do I need to do to set it up after this?

On my personal journey to explore and learn more about JavaScript, in a non-SAP perspective, I'm getting overloaded by all of the frameworks, libraries, etc. that supposedly make things easier for the developer...

That may be well and good, however what happens when the project developer disappears and the support team take over but they are familiar with a different JS library/framework/whatever?

You can level all sorts of negatives at past SAP technology but at least there was some consistency, and you knew if you wanted a BSP/WD4J/ABAP/ITS developer, they'd all pretty much understand the same tools, libraries and features.

It's a brave new world (and probably one that I should reserve for a blog post instead of derailing this discussion any further...)

Hi Mattias,

sorry to confirm you that "Other Source Dimensions Members" field does not support properties also in 7.5 version.

So if you are not able to filter these entities using another dimension (e.g. ACCTDetail) (all dims condition separate by a comma) I think you have to use some script.

Hi Michal,

you have to execute another step so that your user will be working again. First step is to uncheck the checkbox of the PDI workcenter for this user. The second step would be to activate the user for administration in your studio solution. Please open the SDK, click on any solution, then click on the administration menu and then on "switch on/off for administrators". In my case, it worked.

Hi.

If you are changing the Operating System or Database then it will require you to use an R3Load based System Copy (Hetrogenerous). R3Load writes the OS and DB to the header data of the binary dump file and whill detect the change on Impoort and as such the SAP Software Provisioning Manager will request a Migration Key otherwise a migration key is not required.

A Homogenous System Copy can also be performed using the R3Load methodogy. If you hardware changed your Hardware ID will change you will need a new license key but you will not be prompted for a Migration Key.

That's what I figured. Only advice is to go through all of the things mentioned there. Make sure you have the latest MMC and check security settings.

Worst case scenario can you install the design time on a computer not running 2012 and connect to the database/Netweaver?

Hi Sunil,

without seeing the exact mapping/log it is hard to tell the reason. What you can do is the following:

1) Go to the folder \usr\sap\MDM\MDS00\mdm\distributions\<MDM server_database>\<repository>\Inbound\<Client System>\<Port>\Log

Open the corresponding Log (you can find it out by name and the time stamp). Check what this log says. This file should tell you the reason of the failure.

2) Other possiblity is (or rather the next step of troubleshooting) is to open the source file in Import Manager:

a) Start Import Manager

b) Select Port as a Source Type

c) Choose the Inbound Port that throwed the exception

d) Check the mapping

This is documented in the MDIS Guide as well: SAP NetWeaver Master Data Management (MDM) 7.1 – SAP Help Portal Page -> MDM Console Gudie -> MDIS -> Troubleshooting.

If you couldnt find the reason: attach/copy paste the Inport Log from the Inbound Port/Log folder.

Dear Hakim,

From SAP side I can assure that the Web Dynpro has a future.

We are currently working on new features, and many classical GUI applications are under porting to WD alternative.

So the WD and UI5 are not the enemy of each other. They will live side-by-side, because they have different purpose.
