Thanks for the suggestion! Unfortunately, still no success. I tried using the sap.zen.Dispatcher.instance.require statement, yet that throws an error on vis's define module (error ref: Common Errors). I'll give it a second try though.

Re: Newly transported environment appears in SAP GUI but not in BPC Admin Client
There were a couple of things:
1. The user profile that pushed the transport to PROD needed to have SAP_ALL (per note 1744329).
2. The user profile first logging into the BPC web admin client to assign users security also needed to have SAP_ALL in order to see the environment to set it online and to begin assigning users to the security profiles.
It could be that only item #2 was the resolution for this, but we had some errors in the UJA Data Checker that were completely resolved by clearing out the previous attempt to transport and then importing the transport with SAP_ALL access on the user profile performing the import.

Please have a look in Logistics Cockpit (t/code LBWE). Here you can specify per application the update mode. All DataSources belonging to a particular application will use this update mode.

Blair,
If you have taken a backup of the database before you started the database and also the SUM directory then you can easily start the downtime phase again.
You need to restore the database backup and delete or rename the current SUM directory and put the one you have backed up and start the downtime again.
Remember, you will also need to put the old profiles and kernel used by the system before the downtime. You will isolate the CI before starting the downtime as mentioned in the upgrade guide and start the downtime phase.

much food for thought.
I have never really thought about object hierarchy but, if I understand correctly, it is possible to have a 'parent-child' relationship between applications (have I got that right?).
and this means that a data object created in the 'parent' application with Application Component access level should be visible in the 'child' applications.
the bit about the structure of projects (one big application versus many smaller applications) is something I am still struggling with. On one project I was involved in (although it did have several applications in it) the response in the workbench was glacial (literally minutes between mouse clicks) - we are in the process of refactoring this project.
Catalogs - I have not had much to do with so I do not really appreciate their value. I have come across enthusiastic comments about them in various discussions and blogs but I have not had the opportunity to investigate them.
so, my take from this is:
- global is ok but it may come with a performance hit
- Application Component access may be better
- be careful how projects are structured.

First check the PAM entry for the supporting OS and DB to upgrade the system to NetWeaver 7.4
The upgrade guide contains a substantial amount of information
You can use the SAP Solution Browser tool which is now known as the SAP Innovation Discovery to know what comes with the NetWeaver 7.4 version.

The best thing is to do a system copy of the production system to the sandbox and upgrade the sandbox to the target level and finally test the system. This will let you identify the potential impact and benefits of upgrading the system.

Change configured sender or receiver BS/BC
Dear Experts,
Is there a way to change the configured sender or receiver in the integration builder?
I have an interfaces of which sender/receiver is BS_A, I want to change the sender/receiver to BS_B.
Is it possible? or should I copy the objects (for sender or the communication channels if any. for receiver probably change the receiver at the integrated configuration / receiver determination) then change the sender/receiver.

Re: Applying NW740 SP08 with SUM generates dump

I have restarted ERP instance, and also OS.
I checked commited memory decreased on shutting down ERP and increased again after started the job. Virtual memory of Windows was set to more than 600GB.
For max heap memory used in ST02, it was bit more to 155GB but less than 160GB.
Shortdump message happened the same line of the same program, EM and Heap memory usage figure was a bit different, and storage request size figure was totally same as I wrote.
Attached is workprocess trace at the termination and restarted.
Any clue is there?

Hi Waleed,
As per functionality, you will be able to enter the Start time and end time only if the attendance/absence last for one day or less than one day. So if you are creating an attendance/absence record for more than one day the Full-Day box will be checked and you wont be allowed to enter time.
