Re: Tracking a Part mid process

Kiran, I cant thank you enough for the time you are taking to help. Its probably more of a case of me not understanding SAP properly.

The orange parts a parts we buy in complete. The blue are parts we make from these and our own, the green bits under them are the processes that accompany them. Some of the parts we want to track at certain points of the process to see how man we have in WIP.

However the problem thats arising is that SAP doesnt know how many we have in WIP. It only knows how many parts have had the final operation applied to it. (So I'm told)

Hello,

do you tried the method logoff of the interface IF_HTTP_SERVER? If you are using CL_BSP_CONTROLLER2 you can reach it with server->logoff( ). If not you should reach it with runtime->server->logoff( ).

I tried it with IE, Chrome and an old version of IE and it works fine for me.

Tobias

Hi Prasoon,

Thank you for your response. The system doesn't know that a service  is consumed unless the service user creates a service entry for the  service consumed.

Hi Mr Reddy garu,

Thanks for the reply.

I created a new item category and maintained it as manual in the item category determination.

I created a new schedule line category and did the assignment part.

I created a return sales order in Dev, just for testing, and changed the item category manually. So, new schedule line category was determined which has 653 movement types. But, there is no effect either in MMBE or MD04.

Please let me know whether the above process is correct or not.

Thanks

Regards

Anwar

NO, I'm asking you to post here the content of the file agent-plugin.xml which is located in /opt/Sybase/COCKPIT-4/plugins/com.sybase.iq (your installation) if you are trying to use COCKPIT or /opt/Sybase/SCC-3_3/plugins/com.sybase.iq for SCC

Lets consider one example :

1. Universe 1

Connection 1

Business layer 1

Data Foundation 1

2. Universe 2

Connection 1

Business layer 2

Data Foundation 1

if that is the case , then we would be able to implement.

Re: SAP CRM vs. SalesForce.com (advantages, disadvantages, costs, ...)

Hello All,

There are few points in mentioned by Brad Hodson in old  discussion on SCN forum - Salesforce vs SAP CRM

While I can't necessarily tell you the differences between Salesforce and SAP and why those differences are causing a rift in usage, but I can tell you that both are are guilty of having software that is very difficult to get into.

Both Salesforce and SAP are very cluttered systems, especially with all the data and addons that they push out. However, in one regard Salesforce does have a slight usability advantage over SAP and that is native and full cloud support. Cloud support is proven to give any software easier usability because there is no installation or maintenance.

However, while it may seem like Salesforce is destroying SAP, the numbers you get are a bit skewed. Lest we forget, the CRM industry in general is plagued with bad adoption rates (less than 50% stick with it). It's just terrible, and it's because of software like Salesforce and SAP.

The CRM systems that are changing this figure and showing markedly higher user adoption are ones like JobNimbus, Insightly, and Nimble. If anything, you should be asking why these software are winning out over more aged software with vastly longer feature lists?

And the answer is: because they're simple./message-abuse!input.jspa?objectID=13831639&objectType=2

Even, I see rating from users for SAP CRM is not bad, however SAP could be lacking in marketing CRM or  Less online presence of sap user viz salesforce.(refer Compare Salesforce.com vs SAP CRM vs Microsoft Dynamics CRM | TrustRadius )

idocs, inbound delivery and goods receipt

Hi,

I'm new to SAP and assigned the below mentioned task.

Your pointers are really appreciated.

Problem Statement:

The Business Process is as follows:

PR - PO - Inb. del - PGR - IV

We are implementing Warehouse Management.

After Inbound Delivery, I need to send/receive an IDOC to/from other server (say X and Y) where X is used for all business processes and Y is for Warehouse Management.

Configurations to be done:

Outbound IDOC to be configured in Inb Del. from X to Y.

Inbound IDOC to be configured from Y to X for Posting Goods Receipt.

(we'll skip warehouse part, just expect an incoming IDOC from port Y)

Need your help in configuring this setup.

I've never worked with IDOC's yet.

Expecting your help from basics including t-codes, output types, partner profiles, ports, condition records etc.

Thanks in advance.

Consider X and Y to be Logical Systems (LS).

Regards,

   MK

Re: Role Assignment to Workflow Tasks

1. As Murali said, Yes.

2. You can transfer the links between a role and a task via transports and it's good practice, but this link is actually master data, it is not necessary to do so.

3. If you use transports, no, is't always a good idea to refresh the workflow system buffers (transaction SWU_OBUF) after transport.

4. Usually I set the workflow tasks to 'general task' and use the workflow responsibility rules to determine the recipients of the workflow tasks, this way the assignment to users is done via transaction OOCU_RESP. is again is master data. and there is no need to use links to the authorization roles.

see for example Defining Rules Using Responsibilities - Master Data - SAP Library

Re: Table data from SolMan system

So you want to read Solman data from your ECC system, right?

As genric FM like RFC_READ_TABLE don't use the actual structure but map to CHAR 512, you don't need any customer FM. the problem shoulds not be related to RFC, but to creation of an internal table in a system (ECC) using a structure defined in another system (Solman), so not usable in DATA statement of ECC.

So if you don't want to create a similar table/structure in ECC (and maintain it later) you could create a dynamic table, getting information on remote (Solman) structure with a RFC enabled FM like DDIF_FIELDINFO_GET, and creating the local data with cl_abap_structdescr and other RTTS tools as described in many threads.

You will need to go into the Java code and find where the validation is done.  Here you need to look for the Agentry Client Throw message and change the value.
